Kevin Lauderdale's first published piece of fiction was A Test of Character in Strange New Worlds VII. He followed this up with Assignment: One in Strange New Worlds VIII. The following appears in the "About the Contributers" section of SNW VII:
"Kevin Lauderdale ("A Test of Character") has published a wide variety of nonfiction, ranging from newspaper articles to encyclopedia entries, but this is his first fiction sale. He lives in northern Virginia with his wife, two daughters, and one dog. He is hard at work on more SNW stories and a murder mystery set in a alternate-universe version of his alma mater, UCLA."
