Aberdeen was an Earth city located in the northeast of Scotland.
It was a long-standing tradition in the city that a month-long celebration of the many diverse holidays and traditions that occurred in the month of December. The town square was festooned with decorations representing Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, the winter solstice and Hogmany[1].
The square was dominated by a mechanical Santa Claus and brightly-colored reindeer merry-go-round, that played out holiday tunes to entertain children and adults alike. By the early 2230s, the merry-go-round's electricity-powered systems was quite antiquated and the fairground ride was prone to breaking down. Despite that, it was a favorite of a young Montgomery Scott who would offer come up with suggestions on how to repair and improve the ride[1].
